My 3rd overseas assignment: Perth, Australia

Perth from the plane, nice coastal but did not get to go there as it is very far from my hotel.
One of the lovely habitants at the field. They may look gentle, but when it comes to meal time, this buddy is the fiercest among all. Keep yelling at others not to touch the food which I throw to them...haha!

The blue blue sky of Perth. This big field is where the Perth population relax, with people jogging, playing rugby, picnic, strolling. With the cool wind blowing(15 degree) and the heart warming sunshine, it is simply relaxing. Very very nice and very very cool.

This is the sunset at Indian Ocean, taken onboard the oil rig which I stayed for 3 days. Cool!

Another pic of the sunset, with the escort vessel.

Look at the birds, so carefree and enjoying the water after the rain.

This is the 1st time I went to a caucasian country, really feel excited and thrill. The flight took about 5 hrs and I immediately felt the peacefulness once I get onto the Perth streets. Check in Novetel Langley hotel(4 stars) and was told all meals covered by my client. Shiok! Walked on the streets of Perth and found nothing interesting. Realised that their shops closed very early and most don even open on Sunday.

The next day, took the domestic flight to Karratha at about 7am. The flight took 2 hrs and after that took a Super Puma helicopter to the oid rig which is stationed at Indian ocean. This is the highlight of the trip! This is the 1st time I am taking a heli and I can tell you it is very shiok!!! I feel like I am from the Special Task Force going on a secret mission! Haha! But I spent 3 miserable days on the rig as the room is cramp and have to shared with big sized ang moh. Luckily the food is nice and I overheard that they managed to find some resources, not sure whether it is natural gas or crude oil but they said the size of the resource is very very big. And they are saying people are now reluctant to leave the oil rig and people are queueing up to board the oil rig. Guess they know sure got big bonus waiting for them! And I was told they saw some whales nearby the rig ont he 2nd day and I missed that. What a waste!

Left the rig after 3 days and stay 1 more nite in Perth. Bought some food and drink and relax myself at the field, juz like the Aussie and I can tell you it is really something I don get the chance to do so in Singapore. No wonder so many people migrating to Perth, as the driver told me every week there are about 800 people migrating to Perth, and their population is growing bigger each day. Heard from my mum one of my cousin has a estate in Perth, think must find a time and go for a relaxing holiday with my family. Cheers!

Relaxing Krabi 28Jul07-31Jul07

Finally my well deserved break from my hectic work schedule finally arrived. And what can be more fullfilling and relaxing than spending my time with my dearest wife and my best bro and his wife at Krabi! Thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the trip, and really wished that it would be longer. Quality time always seem so short, and while I am updating my blog, my mind on the other hand has been simulating by the images of Krabi. The lovely beaches, the friendly Thai people, the amazing sea life, the Nemo-Mis-identity, the best duck noodles, the mosquitoes-fested kayaking trips to amazing caves, the view of the swimming pool right outside my hotel room balcony and the gushing sound of the waves which hovers around you where ever you are. And we celebrated the end of our holiday drinking fruit wine at the pool side, under the dimly lit moonlight and the gushing seawaves. Although the trip has ended, but the beautiful moments has been captured on photos and in my memory. Thus, sharing with those who has not been there or hesitated to go there, do give Krabi a try if you wanna let go for awhile. Cheers!
